Is there really any point in going on about this? Abortion is an emotional subject. Defining the point where human life begins is not axiomatic. Oh well, one more time... I claim nothing out of thin air. To me, (again, this is subjective opinion and stated rather simplistically), "I think, I feel, therefore I am" defines human life. In this context, an unviable, undeveloped fetus not yet at the stage of cognition or feeling is indeed a potential human being. To those who believe that at the moment of conception, God creates a person and a soul, my definition and context are erroneous. So be it.And, of course, you will be saying nothing that is anything better than what you have already said. A somewhat presumptuous statement, don't you think? I can always strive to do better. :-)You have then sanctioned the murder of millions now protected by law. What millions? And how do you define murder? In a nutshell you say "this is all a matter of faith." No, I'm saying that a consensus view of this issue is impossible, based upon a divergence of underlying assumptions. Others view it as a matter of self-preservation (and they have the philosophical edge over you), a matter of life and death. To be precise, abortion would only be about self -preservation from the point of view of the fetus. Seeing it as a matter of life and death is indeed the viewpoint of many. And I'm not claiming any philosophical "edge" over anyone, just stating where I'm coming from. Some of them think those who think as you do are serious threats that perhaps should one day be eliminated. Hmm, so I should be murdered for what I think ? Take that one down the road to where it leads, philosophically, of course. Here you basically destroyed clear thinking by inserting nitwittery. Hmm, again. I'm not sure whether such chastisement should leave me feeling offended or flattered. :-)PBA is logical if one accepts abortion philosophy. I'm sorry, but there is no "abortion philosophy". There are widely divergent views as to the definition of the beginning of life. Mine happens to fall between the extremes, as I stated above. I am personally against PBA unless there is a compelling medical necessity for the procedure. What gets me is how rabid atheist/libertarian religious fundies seek to force their indoctrination programs of birth control, "sex education" and, if need be, abortion, on the children of others. I knew that would rattle your cage. LOL! I don't want to force anything. But isn't it just plain common sense that knowledge of birth control and reproductive mechanisms would help to alleviate unwanted pregnancy and the abortion procedures that you detest so much?
