It appears that Delta Airlines is providing its 72,000 workers a similar deal to Ford's. The only difference is that instead of a single choice of HWP, Delta is giving its employees a choice of CPQ, HWP, IBM, or Toshiba.

CHICAGO, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- divine interVentures inc. (divine.com) is opening a new location in high-tech hot spot Austin, Texas, as part of its strategy for growing its econet of business-to-business e-commerce companies.

divine, a Chicago-based Internet operating company actively engaged in B2B e-commerce through a network of partner companies, is looking to strengthen Austin's leadership and add new startups and corporate spinouts to its synergistic community of Internet businesses.

"Expanding our Internet Zaibatsu(TM) community to other tech-savvy locations supports our vision of helping cities build business-to-business e-commerce centers and helping our partner companies to focus on their core business so they can get to market faster," said Andrew "Flip" Filipowski, chairman and CEO of divine interVentures, "divine Austin is the first of several new locations we expect to open as we become a leader in the new economy."

Local Contacts for Austin Entrepreneurs

As in Chicago, divine Austin will acquire significant interests in, operate and provide services to B2B e-commerce companies, but with a focus on companies based in Austin and across Texas. Now, Texas entrepreneurs and executives can submit their business plans via the Web at divine.com or contact divine Austin directly at 512-514-6297.

divine Austin has taken office space at 7000 MoPac Expressway, as part of a phased build-out plan. Ultimately, divine will establish a technology habitat in the heart of Austin's "Digital Downtown."

BTW: DELL is providing the hardware for most or divine's employees. Of course they may have access to the dozens of firms they are incubating too. As I recall DELL put about $100M in divine and MSFT put about $25M in the firm. CS First Boston is a large investor as well. This company is seeking to become 'an ICGE of the Midwest'....yet, they are expanding geographically in a very aggressive way. I have noticed they have a new presence in Austin and will soon open up an office in Redmond <G>...Overall, this should be a VERY good investment for DELL (and its shareholders).

Best Regards,

Scott
