Herb, Always look at the bright side of life. Don't take each stock decision too personally. In the past, I was surprised that this stock did not gain the recognition I think it deserves, but lately, I've gotten used to it. I also used to think that earnings growth is the key, but recently, we are at a bump in the road of stock-market history where everybody understands that the stocks that are bubbles have quite a room to go before they pop. As long as you're not the one holding the bag when they do pop, it's ok to spend sleepless nights over stocks that go up for no reason. It really is a popularity contest out there, and ATY (for want of a better word) needs a sillicon implant (n-way pun hiding in there). Longer term, I don't see why I would get out of this stock permanently, but short term, I just can't figure out what's going on. Hence, I wouldn't mind holding 10% of my core portfolio in ATY, but I would be afraid to risk more, not that I'm afraid it's going to be worthless, but more because I'm afraid it MIGHT be relatively flat for a while. Trading/investing is either a game or an investment. It is not a religion, and it hurts more if you take it personally. Me, I just shrug, hold on to my existing aty, and concentrate on the stocks that need more attention. For each of the few times that I kicked myself for not putting all my money in one stock, there's at least 5 other times I'm glad I didn't. And for each time I sold all or most of a core stock where I liked the business, there's at least one where I see it double shortly. All it takes is one sexy product announcement and we might see this stock get its long due recognition. It may happen next week, or it may happen next month or year. On paper, this company has the technical competence to succeed in areas it wants to. Despite all the hype, ATY is still one of the few real heavily hi-tech canadian companies that understand the entire process of hi-tech development from asic fabrication to product marketing. If I can't live w/o the money, I wouldn't put it in the stock market. Wouldnt want them to do that, stock would be 10 times what it is now and look at all the cap gains tax we would all have to pay.
