Big Dog,
The Austrian situation may have helped POG, but these seem to have been the main drivers today, I give more weight to the PDG story. Also, it crossed my mind that those who were short gold could have been long OS stocks as a hedge, hence the selling today. Just a Wild A*s Guess:

GS rumors

sightings.com

PDG real news:

go2net.newsalert.com

FWIW, I sold a more than half of my gold stock, which means I still have plenty because I was margined heavily with it.
I'm patting myself on the back and smoking an Arturo Fuente Hemingway, since this trade included an additional buy this AM at the low and consequent sale at the high this afternoon.
I'll hold the rest and see what happens, real nice % gain in the portfolio today and my basis in that stock is now beyond
doomsday scenarios.

I took some of the proceeds and bought TDW and a bit more XTO today. I have always liked TDW and it always got
away from me before. XTO I thought held up well today except it looked like someone had a sell at the close order,
because I missed that close price by about 30 seconds.
Have any current views on either of these two stocks??

Best Regards,

Roebear
