Tandberg used to be a Divicom customer. Since they bought NDS, they are now a competitor. This might be why Divicom hasn't grown for the last 6 months.................

Sinclair starts with Tandberg

Sinclair Broadcast Group has selected the Tandberg Television series E5820 multi-format ATSC encoders for four of its 58 affiliate stations around the United States. Tandberg Television will also provide Sinclair with engineering support as it launches new digital platforms at the four stations.

Harvey Arnold, director of engineering for Sinclair said, "We selected Tandberg Television to transition its first four stations to digital because of its leadership and experience in ATSC deployment and its reputation as a provider of innovative technologies."

* Tandberg has completed its purchase of NDS' digital broadcasting business from News Corporation, at a cost of $272 million. Tandberg Television CEO Arne Graee commented, "Our independence from specific conditional access and interactive platforms means we can provide the market with open solutions that can be integrated with any other vendors' products.

"This is a market led move, driven by the broadcasters' desire to be able to choose systems from independent providers." The company employs over 850 people in the UK, Europe, Asia and the US.
