Yes, went up to the Pagosa Springs area this summer, very pretty...we made a circuit from Santa Fe around the four corners and back...the San Juan river was rollicking and gay and beautiful in Colorado...but I find Colorado generally a bit too pretty for my tastes, there's something in the rock of Utah, or the clarity of the ethereal light in New Mexico...anyway, in Bluff, the San Juan became this wonderfully calm turgid cafe au lait thing...but powerful...on either side of the town of Bluff were huge red cliffs, the river had run between them until a dam was built...nothing like the rock in Utah and Valley of the Gods. And you can see why the Anasazi lived at Mesa Verde, with those views I would too. Arixona was kind of the least exciting, or maybe it was just the last leg of the trip at the end of the summer.
