The greater fool might be the person who waits till Barrick renounces continuation of hedging. But then I expect you always miss the boat? And of course you're the guy who said that Barrick should not be bought because it was going down to $12? But didn't have the bottle to go short. Just as well as it turns out. And if the price of gold continues to soar you can bet your bottom dollar that many producers will hedge again - because they will get that uneasy feeling that what goes up so fast can come down equally fast. Wait and see. In the corporate world nothing is forever.

IMHO Why bother with those which are now or will in future renounce hedging? There is HM which renounced all hedging quite some tiem ago(all but the minimum reqd. to keep credit rating). AU has been the same light hedge position for ages. Harmony has been reported as having none, as has GOLD.
The list is quite large.
