niceguy - <Owing to TOP-END production difficulties at Intel, there is little competition for Spry ATHY 750's and 800's and as a consequence AMD will reap fat margins in the top end! These fat margins are something, as you Intellabees oft point out, that is new to AMD...and will contribute new share price perfornmance for the AMD shareholder...Intel no doubt will make a profit as a result of margins in the middle and low end as well as sale of investments...but I doubt Intel's ROI in Y2000 will measure up to AMD's...Infact I'm willing to bet $100 that is the case!>

I'm not betting you on that. You may be right for all I know. You are the one arguing that. I have never even commented on it. Actually, I believe the ROI's will be close enough for horseshoes, since you've pushed me, but that's a wild stab in the dark. I don't have a problem with you're argument that AMD's margins will most likely look pretty good for the next Q or two anyway. Your arbitrary 100 for Intel kind of pads your position, since Intel was ~90 the day before earnings, and what was AMD at the day before its earnings?

Go back in your posts, and you are not nearly so specific in your comments niceguy.

SpryGuy, <I doubt Intel's ROI in Y2000 will measure up to AMD's...Infact I'm willing to bet $100 that is the case!>

Tell that to Scumbria. Willy seems to have scared him away.

Ahhhh I see you are changing your tune now! Yes it's true that Intel is having difficulties meeting the demand, they still sold well over 2x as many CuMines as AMD sold Athlons, and they did so with capacity constrained manufacturing system. And in your own works, there was little competition for the high end Athlons, yet AMD was unable to sell all of the modest production from a below capacity Fab25, much less the output from a still MIA Fab in Dresden. Not a good omen when Intel turns on the tap full blast which everybody knows they will. It's becoming pretty clear that Dresden is idle because there is no need for it, other than perhaps as a warehouse.
