re: AMVC--It means we will make a nice profit, but not the 4 bucks that was my target. If they are willing to pay 1.75 cash, it is surely worth twice that, but FMC holds a good bit of power because of the ownership of the preferred shares. It looks like a done deal.

Another Rat winner we bought cheap.
And perhaps now more people understand how and why the market makers and others work against us, because I try to pick only things that are worthwhile, and by sitting on this stock for the last month (not letting the price get to high) FMC is able to buy the whole company a whole lot cheaper than it's true worth.

CHICAGO, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Chemicals and machinery manufacturer FMC Corp. on Friday said it proposed to acquire Advanced Machine Vision Corp--AMVC for $1.75 per share in cash, or $27 million.

"FMC Corporation holds Series B Preferred Stock of Advanced Machine Vision Corporation. Under the terms of that preferred stock, FMC Corporation's approval is required for certain matters, including any merger, sales of control or sale of substantially all of Advanced Machine Vision Corporation's assets.

Advanced Machine Vision Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets machine vision systems that improve quality, enhance yield, reduce production costs and increase throughput in a variety of markets and applications""

After market>Advanced Machine Vision (AMVC: - news) traded up 27/32 to 1 15/16 on 220,000 shares on Island after FMC (FMC:NYSE - news) announced that it was purchasing the company in a deal valued at $27 million. Per the terms of the deal, one share of Advanced Machine Vision would be valued at $1.75, which is a significant jump from the shares' close of 1 3/32. Actually, that's 57.1% more than the close.
