>>Something is going on that is not BAU<<

yes, the children have been given more crayons. uncle al gave the inmates more freedom and guess what they are doing? committing crimes against financial common sense. that money is still easing into the market like an elephant through your front door! ;-)

this market is 100% liquidity driven right now. more liquid, more fireworks... i'm out as soon as my new broker gets set up. 100% cash and plan to stay that way... even for years and years and years...

re: puts... tip, remember watching your fav sports team get ripped off due to a bad call and wondering whether the ref was paid off? no need to wonder about the markets and uncle al. the democrats are running solely on "its the economy stupid." uncle al will print money in his backyard if that is required to support this blimp through the election.

dips, sure. but you will see his little rates go to 0% if anything big occurs.

hi tippet,

your observations are timely; I have been surprised at the low cost of downside protection and continued bullishness of the options traders. I am a humbled bear, but some fruit is just too ripe not to pick......

thanks for your thoughts,

art

Tip:

I share your view. Those four "triggers" I referred to in my December 14 post are at work. I've been wrong before, but both the market action itself, as well as the many ingrained "grinders" that now appear to be accelerating the deterioration of fundamentals (both stock and economy) suggest to me that we are closing in on a big correction. The margins will make it much worse than it might have been, once it gets underway.

Best, Earlie
