Elmer,

They had a supply of unsold highspeed Athlons that couldn't find a home while they sold many times more of their slower K6-2s.

AMD used to be a bottom feeder. Athlon is a new game, new market that takes time to develop.

AMD doesn't have all the time in the world, so the longer they hang onto K6, and delay the all Athlon strategy, the easier it is for Intel to overcome the current slump.

Joe

Elmer - RE: "That's what we used to think but AMD proved that wrong in Q4. They had a supply of unsold highspeed Athlons that couldn't find a home while they sold many times more of their slower K6-2s. Looks like if your name is Athlon, MHz doesn't sell (TM '00 EPhud)."

And you own stock in this company?
