Elmer - RE: "Re: ""I believe this notion that CuMine won't make it above 1 GHz is as unfounded as all the other worthless claims that proved so wrong." Why, why, why? That has been said so much but no support for it..."

You've been told Athlon will run at 1 GHz and there's no support for it either. AMD has never even demoed a 1GHz part at room temp yet you believe it. Why is it you can believe one but not the other? If Intel demo's one next week (or is it the week after?) will you believe it then? "

Why do you respond to my questions with questions? Do you not want to answer them?

I believe AMD can do greater than 1GHz because it was made for MHz, there have been rumors of it by people with good histories, and because Athlons have been very overclockable. Maybe not to greater than 1GHz, but those parts have were older .25 parts runnin at 1.6 volts. Now, .18 processors are running at 1.7. Maybe "low-hanging fruit" have been picked, but AMD is planning on releasing 850 soon and 900MHz after that. When AMD raised the voltage on the K6-2, AMD didn't come out with higher MHz until they enhanced their process. All Athlons are now .18 so I doubt AMD will enhance the process at this time.

Why do I believe Cumine won't get well above 1GHz? I see how Dell is telling customers to wait if they want 800MHz. I see Cumine needs a new stepping to get higher MHz. Willy is coming out after that. Maybe I am looking at the wrong things, but that is why I asked you the questions which you DODGED.

If Intel demos a 1GHz Cumine at that conference I will believe Intel has 1GHz Cumines somewhere.

I have answered your questions even though you DODGED my questions.

Now, what I asked, which you DODGED last time I asked - Why should I believe the "notion that CuMine won't make it above 1 GHz is as unfounded as all the other worthless claims that proved so wrong"???

Again, since you DODGED my question the first time - Why should I believe the "notion that CuMine won't make it above 1 GHz is as unfounded as all the other worthless claims that proved so wrong"???

Please don't DODGE my question a second or third time.
