Monica, yes, I've heard of Northwood, but this is the first time I've seen Intel publicly announce its existence. Northwood is basically a shrink of Willamette from 0.18u to 0.13u, allowing for lower cost, higher volumes, higher speeds, and lower power requirements.

Yet this is the first time I've heard that Northwood will end up in the mobile market. You're right; Northwood-based laptops will be real screamers.

Oh, and because Northwood will be on the 0.13u process, it will feature the much-publicized copper interconnect technology.
