William, <<Shorts scrambling>> You make a very good point. Will there be carry through, is this the new gold bull market, or just a flash in the pan?

Monday is the 3rd day of Chinese New Year and is observed in many part of Asia as a holiday. Market in Hong Kong will be close. Friday unexpected surge in gold market in late hours (after UK market close) will lead to margin calls for many Hong Kong and Far East buyers on Tuesday. I suspect Institution shorts will have to run for cover Monday. A further run up in POG in London Market could be expected. If so, it would be a disaster for shorted retail clients.

<<Shorts scrambling to cover does not a bull market make.>>

BUT according to the WGC gold demand is very near an all time high.
