Thanks for the feedback Allan

What would I want my ideal program to do?
Here are my present requirements as I mentioned:
* (1) Quicken which I use for record and tax reporting purposes and generally update monthly
* (2) CSW Portfolios for trading and account management on a minute by minute basis and/or daily basis (BTW, 5 portfolios is not enough!), and
* (3) Trading Log - a hand-written record which keeps track of trading orders & fills

I'd want to find something which handles 1 & 2 combined as a minimum...in other words, I don't want to have to re-enter stock buy & sell data.....Quicken doesn't meet Cdn tax reporting requirements (does not use ACB calculations) but their portfolio performance & reporting abilities are generally excellent .... CSW doesn't have any record management or reporting capability like capital gains records, portfolio performance analysis by time period, etc but it has portfolio summaries based on real time quotes and updates.....I could live with the manual trading log as it's not a priority because it changes too frequently - whenever I change my mind - which is very often!!!

So the solution would be for CSW to change their Portfolio interface to provide an interface like Personal Stock Monitor (PSM).....BTW, I downloaded PSM.....It looks and feels great but it won't allow me to get RT quotes from CSW, therefore I can only use it on a delayed quote or end of day basis...as a result, it is of no use to me during the trading day....PSM also does not offer capital gains reports or portfolio performance analysis by time period, etc.

I'm sure others on this thread have better ways of handling their record management requirements....let's hear how they do it!
