Dear Mr Dowd:

"Microsoft Corp. should sell at a multiple of 60 to 70 and isn't, making it an attractive buy right now, she said. Despite a legal battle with the government that will continue ''for some time,'' the No. 1 software maker's new Windows 2000 will be highly successful, she said."

This is not exactly what the manager of Putnam Investors Fund said. To paraphrase, Microsoft could settle, "if it wanted to" implying the momentum of the case is with MSFT.

Buyer Beware, she also said they use the 10/10/10 approach to selling:
stock price goes up 10% in 10 days, they sell 10% of portfolio.
Is she telling us she's a pumpin and a dumpin?

PS
Acceptance and resulting revenues from WIN2000 should be Rapid and Extraordinary: pent up demand from y2k, pre-launch delivery and praise, the absolute necessity of business being connected to the web,
