Im not sure I understand what you are asking... if, say, you have Jan 50's and the panel decides to adjust the strike price instead of giving you PALM rights it would be constructed so you neither get a windfall or get screwed... if they adjusted your $50 strike to say $10, then that new strike price would not take effect until the day AFTER the spin-off. That is, they won't give you a lowered strike in time for you to exercise and take the PALM shares AND benefit from a lowered strike. Mr. Market will immediately adjust the price of COMS the minute after the PALM spin-off, and that's when a new lowered strike would take effect.
