<< Robert, I am not taking it so personal. >> Are too! Na, na na, naaaaa! << It is devastating to me too to see the state of our Political Arena. >> Me too. Where have all the heroes gone? << I like McCain but I remember the "Keating Five" and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. ... They should all have gone to Jail. >> McCain used very poor judgement. Hopefully all of his mistakes are behind him. What sickens me was the total lack of prosecutions. Thousands got away with $billions of dollars. Why? Why weren't more prosecuted? Not just in the S&Ls, how about the looting of HUD! McCain still looks a lot better to me than Bush or Gore, or any of the religious fundamentalists, who would get into office and be very divisive. << However Deregulation was a disaster in the Banking World. >> Agreed. Once again, so was the lack of holding people accountable. No wonder why the public is apathetic. << I have a Quadrapleghic Nephew (6'8") from theViet Nam conflict, He was not as lucky as McCain. His prison is his bed where his parents have spoon fed him for all of these years. >> Vietnam was America's turning point downward. It was a total abuse of power. << I see nothing in this group of Presidential Candidates and it will not matter who gets elected, it has been the same ole' same ole' B/S for many years. >> If anyone has the legacy to make a difference, it is McCain. We need higher standards in our government and in our schools. << We seem to get more of the same every Election. It looks like Jeb Bush is a Tyrant who is slitting his own throat and his brothers in Florida. >> Absolute power corrupts. Jeb thought that, as Governor, he was King. Doesn't work that way. Jeb is fairly inexperienced and is shooting himself in the foot. He also has dark clouds in his past. No one has asked why he flew to Nigeria, which was one of the most corrupt countries in the world, and got the US to give (aka: loan) Nigeria millions of dollars for water pumps that, to this day, have never been used, that were sold by the company that Jeb was representing. << It appears that all of the candidates are "operating without benefit of brain", this is probably more discouraging to me than it is to you. >> Thanks for the compliment. << ... I know the person who put through the call to burn the ballot boxes in KC to elect Harry Truman. It is no wonder he went to bed the night of the election ;-) Seems more of the same to me, how about you. >> One reason I like McCain is that he is going against the choice and the big money of the Party. But, I don't understand your comparison. << I respect your right to disagree. but fit into McCains shoe? :-) >> McCain went thru hell in service to his country. Your use of the word SOB irked me. OTOH, what size do you wear? <g> << <btw> I never considered McCain a Populist, that is Pat Buchanan's territory is it not? >> Buchanan a populist? Not hardly. Perhaps, a divisive candidate who is a radical and a racist. I'm afraid of Buchanan. I picture him someone who would implement all kinds of radical programs, without thinking them through, and only finding out after we experience national disasters, that his concepts wouldn't work. I meant that McCain is becoming the people's choice instead of the machine's and big money's choice. This might change, if McCain looks good and Bush's supporters start switching over to McCain. I misjudged you, shoes and all. Regards, Bob
