hey sue,

just fyi, pw mentioned to me that she was going on vacation until about the middle of the month or so.

my two cents on your question is to vote for the second hard drive. i think that is pretty cool. right now i do full system backups with iomega jaz disks at 1gb each (but actually squeeze about 1.5gb on each disk with compression). i can use multiple disks if i have to for one backup. between my two pc's the most data i have on one drive is 1.63gb on a 13gb capacity drive, so i just started having to use the second jaz disk.

i realize that this method is not feasible for larger size storage, and i'm thinking more seriously about the second hard drive for backups. i read wily's reply to you on 'dream' about hard drives being sensitive and, thus, not too reliable (paraphrasing). to that i would add that the jaz drives are just that... removable hard drives. i've not had a problem with them, as i have not had a hard drive go south on me either. i just don't know how 'sensitive' they really are, you know?

just wanted you to know that pw probably won't be around to respond for awhile.

:)
