Good questions.

IMO = In My Opinion. It is typically used to separate fact from
personal opinion. If I say:"It is going to rain tomorrow.", I'd better be able to supply credible meteorologic evidence that rain
is coming. IF I say"IMO, it's going to rain tomorrow", then I've
qualified it as an opinion, not a factual statement.

EOM = End Of Message. When you see EOM in the highlighted response
on the thread, don't bother clicking on it. There is no more.

You're correct on LOL. Sometimes you'll see a <G>. That stands for
"grin" or "giggle". The implication is the statement preceding the <g>
was tongue in cheek & not meant to be taken literally.
