Dale, here's my take on the chart. MTSN 10 day EMA well above the 50 day EMA which is bullish. The 50 day EMA is at $23.75 so that is the near term down side risk. The 200 day EMA is at $15.50. MTSN hasn't touched the 200 day EMA since April99 which is very good for an alleged cyclical company. The 50 day EMA was broken in November, but rebounded quickly. Right now it looks like the consolidation was broken with the new high Friday which is a strong sign of strength. Each of the three days over a million in volume resulted in gains for MTSN so there is strong accumulation. Generally the declines have come on reduced volume, another good sign. Stochastics showing an overbought condition, but stocks at new highs usually do. The MACD has been positive since November 20th. It is showing some flatness for MTSN in the last five days. Probable upward breakout again. I see $45 before $27 if the charts are right. The market is chasing winners and seems to kick losers. We got two more months before earnings rumors will play a factor. The 3 million share offering will allow more institutional buying. Institutional ownership is only 13% as of Dec99. Last quarter, there was some net selling by Dimensional Fund Advisors, but it probably was profitaking. The decline in posts doesn't bother me as long as news is posted. Trying to slog through Yahoo to get info is tedious. There are many boards (RB-Yhoo-WSC-WSW-CNBC-TSCM-Stocktalk-lionden) trying to get where SI is now. I see new SI posters every week. Also, sometimes the talk on SI is too technical and new posters are intimidate to post for fear of being a mindless cheerleader or rebuke for asking a basic question. Someday, one message board company is going to recruit the top bookmarked people (ex. Jenna, A@P, Kim) and pay them to run their thread there, because they generate readers and new subscribers. The analogy is being a great columnist and not getting any revenue from the profitmaking newspaper that encourages you to write. I look for a good two months ahead for MTSN. My best stock for January. Jack
