Your hot dog theory? LOL!

Hey, Volty, you KNOW how much I like those French men. Can't keep away from Provence in summer. :)

re: ...we need more Great Lines

a friend just sent me this about a minute ago in response to something i sent last night. he's a pretty wise friend.

"laughter and tears are a signal that we've recognized something, our soul has been touched. words mean nothing at a time like this."

i've been collecting and sending lines to my daughter and my younger son (in jail) everyday (almost) for the past two years. i'll look through 'em for some wallpaper for the house. some of 'em really moved me.

Hey V,
you own a plane, don't you?
Could you take me down the canyon that Angel Falls is in(Venezuela)?
Last I went as a passenger in a smaller plane and skimmed over the top of the falls...
It took my breath away looking down 3300 or so feet.
What I saw there is so embedded in my brain that if I ever see any videos or pictures of what I saw on that trip, it almost brings tears to my eyes.
I was watching the PBS New Years program, and when they showed Venezuela, they broadcast from the same beach I stood on, looking across at multiple waterfalls in Canaima.
Soooo, if you ever go there, I will stand here with my thumb up, trying to 'hitch' a ride!!

Volt, some "lines" for ya

1) "Nothing exceeds like excess"

2) "Anything worth doing is worth overdoin'"

. . . . sort of like my 100% QCOM portfolio, now in recovery.

I see we're having another Qualcomm Anonymous meeting.
Like they say, "90 meetings in 90 days."

-Ch‚ (again, don't forget the accent on the "e")

Volt man,

You should not have made that request.

Here are some lines from songs that are my personal favorites.....

Well, do you ever get the feeling
that the story's too damned real
& in the present tense,
or that everybody's on the stage
& it seems like you're the only person
sitting in the audience?

(Jethro Tull - Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day)

A little of what you fancy
does you good, or so it should.

(JT - Passion Play)
___________________________________

Really don't mind if I sit this one out,
my words but a whisper, your deafness a SHOUT!
I may make you feel, but I can't make you think.
You're sperm's in the gutter, you're love's in the sink.

So you ride yourselves over the fields
& you make all your animal deals
& your wise man don't know how it feels
to be thick as a brick.
And the sand castle virtues are all swept away
in the tidal destruction, the moral melee.
The elastic retreat rings the close of play
as the last wave uncovers the newfangled way.
But your new shoes are worn at the heals
& your suntan does rapidly peel
& your wise man don't know how it feels
to be thick as a brick.

And the love that I feel is so far away;
I'm a bad dream that I just had today
& you shake your head & say it's a shame.

Spin me back down the years and the days of my youth.
Draw the lace & black curtains & shut out the whole truth.
Spin me down the long ages: let them sing the song.

(JT - Thick as a Brick)

1. In the beginning, Man created God;
& in the image of Man created he him.

2. And Man gave unto God a multitude of names,
that he might be Lord over all the earth
when it was suited to Man.

3. And on the seven millionth day
Man rested and did lean heavily on his God
& saw that it was good.

4. And Man formed Aqualung of the dust of the ground,
& a host of others likened unto his kind.

5. And these lesser men Man did cast into the void.
And some were burned; and some were put apart from their kind.

6. And Man became the God that he had created
& with his miracles did rule over all the earth.

7. But as these things did come to pass,
the Spirit that did cause Man to create his God
lived on within all Men: even in Aqualung.

8. And Man saw it not.

9. But for Christ's sake he'd better start looking.

(Ian Anderson - inside sleeve of the JT Aqualung album

mo' great lines

from lyle

If I Had a Boat
(Lyle Lovett)

If I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

If I were Roy Rogers
I'd sure enough be single
I couldn't bring myself to marrying old Dale
It'd just be me and trigger
We'd go riding through them movies
Then we'd buy a boat and on the sea we'd sail

And if I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

The mystery masked man was smart
He got himself a Tonto
'Cause Tonto did the dirty work for free
But Tonto he was smarter
And one day said kemo sabe
Kiss my ass I bought a boat
I'm going out to sea

And if I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

And if I were like lightning
I wouldn't need no sneakers
I'd come and go wherever I would please
And I'd scare 'em by the shade tree
And I'd scare 'em by the light pole
But I would not scare my pony on my boat out on the sea

And if I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

Hey Voltaire (Tom): There sure is a beautiful sunrise today -- a view available from 'the porch' <G>....

How was your flying..?? It provides a great perspective doesn't it.... At this time I'm not a pilot but I sure love to fly. Who knows, someday I may even have a plane..!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Best Regards,

Scott
