Good evening Jill:

I've been using quicken for the past 7 years. Can't even think of getting along without it. Once you set up the categories (don't worry, you can add additional categories and sub categories as you go along) and the automatic check wrting feature using the calander, it becomes a piece of cake (wonder how they got that expression. Interesting observation, flour and water make glue. However; Flour, water and eggs make cake. Something to think about.....hmmmm).

David

Jill, setting up the categories is key, but don't let that scare you. If you decide to re-organize those, you can do it at any time. So take it one step at a time. (When you rename a categor or change its Tax information, its retroactive to all the transactions that use that category.)

I do my own taxes, using TurboTax, so I don't use an accountant. However, I know several that do and their accountant tells them exactly what they need. Some do an electronic file, others run a "Tax Summary Report".
