PartyTime,

There is one aspect to all this talk from various engineers and the like that just doesn't ring true. If it is so "easy" to write or if it is just "standard operating procedure" to use an OS like the MicroOS, then why hasn't anyone else done it? Jon claims that multi-codec functionality is nothing new, yet not one company has software that enables their music players to accept multi codecs with multi-DRM's. Not one! RCA, DiamondRIO, Samsung, I-Jam etc. all have MP3 players on the market, and a few have devices that transcode other codecs into MP3 or some other codec, but not one is able natively play each individual codec with its DRM. Please Jon, if it is so easy to adapt, then why hasn't anyone else been able to do this. Clearly the music industry is in desperate need of a solution that will enable secure downloads of digital music regardless of which codec is used. EDIG has a solution that would appear to answer their need. This would be a very important technological advancement in their eyes, wouldn't you agree? If it is so easy to do, then again I ask you why hasn't anyone else been able to adopt a similar solution for their proprietary technology?
