Ho hum, time to raise the bar again, so the Athlon 850's are popping up.

It is still very early, but so far the KX133/PC133 combo looks OK. Stable, a performance improvement, and, being a 4 layer design from the beginning, a cost reduction. What a contrast to the Rambus fiasco.

Meanwhile Intel is hanging in there, but it's pretty obvious that they are straining, and we are seeing everything they've got. (and seeing the desperate releases of the 810/820/840 and "introduction" of 750 and 800MHZ Coppermines were not pretty sights).

I know it can't be this easy, but AMD is sure making it look effortless, and gives every indication that they could be holding back a few surprises.

I think the market is ready for a business desktop - I sure hope we will get some SKU's very soon. And once those have been out for a couple of months, it will be time for the dual processor (and more) chipsets that are so notedly absent.
