RE: HUNT

I've heard from a couple of the Project Leaders who have been reading the early reports, and feel challenged. Well, that's good...who wants to play tennis with a guy you always beat? Not the best way to improve your game is it!

On the other hand, I have explained that these initial reports are designed to jump start the discussion process, not end it. Not everyone here is technically astute, or good at number crunching, or at seeing future trends, or at seeing value chains forming, or not forming, or pin-pointing tornado forming events...you get the idea.

Some reports will be more complete than others, some companies will lend themselves to more complete reports than others. What ever comes out of them, lets all remember that our value-added is in the collective discussions that point to a consensus reading, and that the reports themselves are the initial input only.

My concerns may be misplaced, but I don't want these Project Leaders to feel in the least inadequate to their tasks. You are not going to be pounced upon, there will be questions that may send you back to the resources, but I doubt that anyone here will mercilessly put you on the defensive. Relax. Do the best your talents permit, and trust that the thread will take it from where you leave it.

An excellent, though worrisome post. And it's been so long since he wrote that Gregg Powers has become Gregg Powell (sigh).

Maybe he'll come back when we really, really need him (like Zorro!)

Can't you just see a jagged Z slashed into the side of a blown GSM/TDMA base station?

Eric or even better EriQ:

A landmark post in my mind and a history lesson for us all. I think you have laid down a cogent claim that the wireless world is far from rolling over for the Q at this point.

Hopefully, physics and engineering are on the Q's side, despite the resources of the big 5.

Since I am from New Orleans, I will be hoping to catch some of Wireless 2000. Can you believe I asked IR for passes and they blew me off? Don't they know I own 1/30,000 of the company?

If I may borrow from MIke Buckley, Harrumph!
