India Hot Stk: ICICI +8% On E-Commerce Plans, ADS Rise

BOMBAY (Dow Jones)--Shares in development bank ICICI Ltd. (IC) are up the allowed maximum 8% Tuesday, with brokers bullish on the company's foray into electronic commerce and the rise in its American Depository Shares overnight, dealers said. A division of ICICI is to start offering stock trading over the Internet.

On the New York Stock Exchange, ADS's of ICICI ended up $4.13, or 19.3%, at $29.13.

At 0515 GMT (12:15 a.m. EST), shares of ICICI were at 166.50 rupees ($1=INR43.62), up INR12.30
