The rise in the POG on Friday says that we have to take seriously the possibility that some big hedge funds have been burned in a losing bet on the future direction of interest rates. Is this the beginning of a switch from one safe haven to another? Gold is the ultimate safe haven.

The bottom line here, Bobby, is that after 20 Bear Market years and countless failed rallies, the POG will have to take out last falls high of $340 on a closing basis to get investors attention.

I'm quite concerned about the tremendous under performance of the XAU here: It is raising a yellow flag. There is, however, historical precedent for the POG leading the XAU.
