By Don Knox
Denver Post Business Editor

Smith heads Lockheed Martin's space operations. Last week, his $5.5-billion-a-year unit officially moved its headquarters to the company's Deer Creek Canyon complex in Jefferson County.

It's a fascinating gig with stunning office views and the chance to say - emphatically - that much of what you do has the effect of keeping America safe and secure.

It's great, save for one thing.(cont)
