PB RE <<<hmlay - You unilaterally attribute me with a bunch of opinions I in fact don't have. Nice job of unrelated ranting. >>>.

Pb, are you now denying that you said if we believe Intel is having yield, binsplit or process problems we should short Intel. My response pointed out that one should not underestimate the potential earnings increase any company would have after a successful price war for awhile. I also pointed out; and I wish to reiterate the importance of this, how these high prices encourage more competition in the long run and create animosity between supplier and customers. This animosity could foretell, more than Willy's attributes, how well Willy will sell in the consumer end. If Intel can somehow show this shortage was an accident somehow, not what it seems to be; a sucessful price war driving competitors out of business and then Intel cleaning up by gouging the OEM's with high chip prices during the following chip shortage;then the animosity might be minor. To that end it is a mistake for Intel to claim that the shortage is from demand (not unforseen, unexpected yield, binsplit or process problems) because Intel created that demand by running competitors out of business; not by successful product introduction. Its pure arrogance to think one can create a shortage, gouge ones customers and think they will be back in droves when the shortage is over. It won't happen, no matter how great Willy is.
