Seems to me the spread is simply the risk associated with the retreat in the price of Etek if the deal falls through. JDSU paid a hefty premium and there are risks that this merger will be prevented or even hampered by gov't intervention. I recently purchased some Etek trade shares and have since sold most of it. I am keeping some as I feel the deal will go through. However, I could not trade a substantial portion of my JDSU position for Etek - too risky for me. Claude (rhymes with TOAD)
