Gary- yesterday I listened to an interview with managers of the (American Funds) SmallCap World mutual fund. Amongst their points was that small caps tend to run in long cycles (up to 7 years) and that we MAY be at the beginning of one such cycle. Last couple of years a few large-caps have dominated because they did have superior earnings growth, and also because of the phenomenon of indexing. Now the better values and earnings growth may be down where we lurk. It will be a tough call come May whether to lighten up for the usual summer doldrums, or whether there's enough breeze to sail right thru <g>.
