That is a sensible explanation. It takes buyers and sellers to make a market and I am always delighted to have large short figures around while I anticipate a stream of good news to unfold. It only feeds the frenzy. Thanks. Good post.

Zeev: Hmmmmm...." but for those people that like to hedge a long folio with few selected shorts, the fundamental financial tools used would designate the current price and balance sheet of VLNC as "ripe" for shorting."

Well, I love a good short as much as the next person; and also use certain software tools to glean some possible nuggets. However, the tools provide only a starting point in the evaluation. There are a few other factors to consider before going out on that particular limb, not the least of which is momentum, and the underlying interests associated with the equity in question.

There's an old say which goes something like this...."Never test the depth of the water with both feet". And in the case of VLNC it appears those exercising the short gambit have been doing just that.

Now let's see what happens this week.
