Hi, K.
Fetch is a program that takes data and puts it on a webpage. ftp = file transfer protocol
I'm trying to upload a document to my webpage and can't figure out all this stuff so I'm playing with it!

Re HDTV, you might want to wait a bit because more and mor stuff will be forthcoming, which always drives the price down. Depending on where you put it, make sure there is room for all the speakers you will want for the "home theater" effect.
Goodies = CD/DVD stuff to be attached. VCR for videos (home movies?) - go to camera store because they are coming out with digital home movies which probably can be played through your tv via an stb or the internet.
STB - can get through your cableco. Directv will have them, probably this year, but call them anyway. I have all Sony equipment for my "home theater" and satellite. Watchout because AOL has an agreement/investment with Directv and no one wants AOL.
One thing to consider is the amount of data coming into your home and where you will want it to go. I have satellite to 2 TVs and basic cable to 3 TVs plus to my computer. The incoming cable should only support 2-3 splitters (I know this is now - most likely will change) and I haven't investigated satellite, which will probably be more expensive.
Hope this helps a tiny bit. I'm positive someone out there knows tons more and I hope they see your question.
