Interest rates falling this week after the Fed meeting have nothing to do with JDSU or ETEK, but they affect the spread between them, because part of that spread is the time value of money. (I don't get my 1.1 shares of JDSU for 5-6 months.)

The spread only shrank from about 21% to about 19%. I would suspect with the closure of the OCLI deal, we got some $$ coming in to take advantage of the discount/arbitrage to get into JDSU. Not sure if the fed raising rates would shrink the spead. I would suspect higher rates would work on increasing the spread. Gotta think about that.

Cheers and good luck to all longs.
