True 'nuff, we are loaded up with resource and resource related stocks, although I believe some index rejigging has been taking place much like the SP500.

It will be ironic if the rallies in the resources sector end up not contributing to the index decline.

I suppose that will make some fund managers jobs much easier! (beating the index)

On the other hand, Nortel, BCE have such a big impact on the index it would be in sorry shape if they were not around, which means in downturn shorting the index (TSE:TIP or TSE:HIP) might be highly profitable. I've not really done much study of the composition of the index nor am I planning on actively trading it -- my tools and information are all geared to the US market and I largely ignore my own... (except at extremes)
