Captain,

>An Auto update to 6.0 (if it does NOT do the same) could make sense.

What makes you think 6.0 would include an option for undoing what was done in 5.0? Do you think 5.0 was a mistake? Why would they waste what was achieved through many development and testing cycles in 5.0 by creating an "undo" function in 6.0? Doesn't make sense.

You are a captive audience and your boss knows it. There is no other option but "You've got mail". He's simply maximizing profits for his stockholders by making it difficult for subscribers to leave. This is the way corporations deal with high attrition. Don't fix the root source of the attrition, just make it difficult to leave. Case has cracked under the pressure of unrealistic shareholder expectations and he has begun to shoot himself in the foot. What is your reaction to the statement that the TWX deal will make the world a better place? Is it different now than when it was first announced?

Evidence of what TWX brings to the stock price is the lack of price reaction to the Bertlesman thing. No negative, no positive. Just like the bounce of a dead cat. SPLAT!!

Same thing with ATHM. They bought Excite and T bought TCOMA and that changed the nature of the company. It is now a known quantity and looks more like a utility. One hell of a hangover.
