Steven W. Banning as President TORONTO, Feb. 7 /CNW/ - SouthernEra Resources Limited is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has named Steven W. Banning as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective March 1, 2000. Mr. Banning will succeed Christopher M.H. Jennings, founder of the Company and its only President since 1992. Dr. Jennings will remain as non-executive Chairman of the Company. In making the announcement, Dr. Jennings stated, ``I am pleased to be turning the management of the Company over to Steve. His diverse mine operating experience and strong leadership skills will be instrumental in taking the Company through its next stage of growth and beyond.' Mr. Banning commented, ``Dr. Jennings and his team have put together an exceptional portfolio of advanced projects. Mr. Banning brings to the Company more than 25 years of experience in the mining business. In addition to his strong mine operations background, he has held various corporate positions including President and CEO, Vice President Operations and Vice President Development.
