Yes, shipping and "handling" often is a hidden cost which can provide the necessary profit margin. Perhaps they also try to sell you a service contract? :-)

And in order to be the lowest on Pricewatch, there is an incentive for creative pricing. With that shipping charge, they may also hope you will bundle in some other goodies without checking the prices as carefully.
