Greg, I found your dialog with Buck to be of great use, and in perfect accord with the intent of the thread. Thanks for contributing to the technical content of G&K.

Greg,

"I understand the words but not the sentences."

Sometimes I don't even understand the words. That's the challenge to which I must rise. The last thing I want to have happen around here is for the thread to "dumb down." Just the opposite, the more you folks can teach all of us about the stuff that is innately foreign to us, the more we are grateful to you.

This is a case in which I completely agree with Frank. It doesn't happen often, so let's celebrate the occasion! :) Just as technology is not for those who don't understand it, all aspects of technology is not for those who don't or won't take the time and energy to understand all of it.

Frankly, I think my investments can be wildly successful without understanding everything there is to know about technology. That alone gives you and the others permission to speak of things that will always remain beyond my abilities.

For those who remember, ErickErick came here at my long-time request. In doing so, I knew full well that I would be fortunate to fully appreciate no more than 75% of what he brings to our thread, maybe only 50%. That's more than Okay. It's mighty fine.

Just my opinion.

Greg,
We have skirted the FC industry many times on this thread, just to reach dead ends because we did not have the tech expertise to go further. BRCD, LGTO, VRTS, EMLX, ANCR keep coming up on our radar screens, but we don't know their speed nor their altitude, so we ignore them.

EMC and NTAP use FC, so understanding FC is important even if we do not wish to consider the FC industry itself.

Speaking only for myself, buck's discussion was an excellent example of technical discussion in gorilla gamer terms. I have searched for the info that buck shares on several other threads and was not able to learn much at all. And any responses I got were from folks who had no knowledge of ggaming. So buck's insight and context is very valuable.

Let us refine and digest. Conclusions that all will understand are very likely to result.
