Lewis, people who think they have to, or even can, "earn" their salvation, just do not know the primary tenet of Christianity. You and I know, that salvation can come ONLY from the Grace of God Almighty, through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. The very notion of achieving salvation, without Faith, is futile, even for the elect, select, and chosen.
