That number surprised me.I had not thought it so large and wonder if the article mentions if all of these are expected to have a disk drive. Numbers I had seen before were less then half that for 2000. I am with you. The quicker new markets emerge, and the DD makers can spread dependence on other then the Dells of this world, the better.

That's by far the largest number we've seen for 2000, if correct. Like Stitch, I have to wonder whether all these set top boxes would have disk drives (although once people understand them, who would want a set top box without one?). Can we add PVRs on top of this number? -Z
