honestly Volt, I find it inconceivable that the feds will even be capable of finding places to spend this surplus

it is way too much to fathom
first order is to reduce taxes
in 1997-1999 period, we saw massive deflation
- in commodities (metals, oil for a while)
- in interest rate payments (like mortgage, home equity, margin debt, credit cards to some extent)
- in Japanese automobile and electronics consumer products

we saw deflation everywhere except in tax load
unfortunately, the only time taxpayers demand lower taxes is during recessions
tax cuts are 18 months overdue

most likely avenue in my mind for surplus is Social Security

might be heading south in about 10 days
gotta get some surgery and skiing behind me
