TOKYO, Feb. 7 (Kyodo) - The number of subscribers to mobile telephone services provided by DDI
Corp.'s eight regional cellular phone service providers fell 7,400 in January from the previous month to
6,142,200 in January, the first-ever decrease, DDI said Monday.
While the number of subscribers to the high-quality cdmaOne service increased 210,200, those to the
PDC and TACS services decreased 195,900 and 21,700, respectively, DDI said.

The release late last year of mobile phones with color liquid crystal displays by NTT Mobile
Communications Network Inc. and the J-Phone group lured customers away, industry officials said.
