The gray market is sales by brokers or "pseudo-distributors" that are not authorized by the manufacturer of the components.

The so called "brokers" get their devices from OEMs or authorized distributors that have excess inventory to unload.

The standard distribution channels are fairly well defined by the manufacturer/OEM customer/distributor relationships.
