Barrick did not close out the hedges but they have been buying call options.

CNBC reported that Barrick will discontinue hedge, but even more important plans to increase production to 5 million ounces (+35%) by 2003. This goes with my previous concerns about record primary mine production continuing despite relatively low gold prices.

Hello Alex. You think its just a coincidence that bush & mulrooney are
directors of barrick --- NOT---. from what I have read here and other sites the biggest winner of a low gold price is the US. Government and friends ( Canada ) . IMHO. bush and mulrooney do a great deal of directing in this company.
You think these two birds still have anything to do with their respective governments.? :-)
