Re ABX: You may be holding the wrong stock Bob. It would be a shame to see the POG flying and your investment languishing.

Bob:

You do not announce a 35% increase in production at a time when the commodity is attempting to move up to an equilibrium price with current production numbers. I am not impressed, cover 2.6 million ounces of positions and increase production by 1.5 million ounces per year. Obviously, the market saw thru the charade and dumped gold 8.5 bucks. Nem is a much better trading vehicle than barrick at the current time and should be used as a proxy for the XAU. Barricks allegiance is to its officers and the bankers, and every once in awhile when they have to, reluctantly, throw a bone to the shareholders. Gold is all about leverage, and barrick offers none. There stellar balance sheet means nothing to a gold investor looking for big returns predicated on a move in the pog, but means a lot to corporate officers looking for perks, and bankers looking for commissions.
