Tony, I have to disagree somewhat (if I understand your comment correctly)...

If you are talking about (only) recognition, clearly Gates,
Grove, Chambers..have greater recognition than Ruettgers...But that recognition is not a function of their perfect public "performances", rather their company's performance (and resulting media..)

As far as presence and delivery, Ruettgers, I believe is the best of the bunch (that you mentioned): Gates, despite a better haircut, and more smiling...still comes off as a bit geeky..aggressive...he has had (obviously) a pretty big backlash to overcome....and has improved, but is still not perfectly smooth

Chambers IS terrific, however, he speech "tone", "dialect" (I don't know if it is an impediment, or what) is not a classic "oratory"...if you focus on his words, he is flawless...if you focus on the tone and manner of his speech, it is not as good (also, he tends to speak EXTREMELY fast, which, of course, is a function of him wanting to get as much explanation/information in as possible)...but, the old adage applies, that slower and steadier sounds more confident...

I haven't heard Grove is a while, but I seem to recall his accent was a minor disruption...

I am really nitpicking here...obviously, all 3 that you mention deserve enormous respect....I am really "playing" for debating points...and, for sheer style points, I have a difficult time seeing what Ruettgers can change about his performance(s)...I wish he could give Michael Dell a call <G>

Ruettgers has a perfect style for a run in politics..Commander-in-chief...
