Be Inc. Unveils New Internet-Enabled Audio Appliances

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. -- Be Inc. (BEOS) unveiled Internet-enabled consumer audio appliances, based on Intel Corp.'s (INTC) architecture.

In a press release Monday, Be said it worked with Intel to create its software platform for Internet appliances on Intel's Celeron processor.

Be's BeIA software platform was selected by First International Computer Inc. (Q.FIC), a personal computer motherboard and system vendor.

The BeIA platform, previously known as Stinger, delivers information and entertainment over the Internet.

Shares of Be recently traded at 20 3/16, up 4 5/16, or 27.4%, on Nasdaq volume of 2.4 million shares. Average daily volume is 1.5 million shares."
