How pissed off are you? Would you change your ISP? Will you just stay pissed? If you changed your ISP where would you go? There's nothing like AOL content so if you changed you would have to suffer. How would you chat? Change your email address? Can't be done without sending out an email to your address book stating "my email has changed". You wouldn't hear that little voice saying "You've got mail." You would have to throw the movie away.

1. Very 2. Yes 3. No 4. To one that does what you ask it to 5. IM and ICQ available anywhere 6. Bummer 7. Maybe I'll hear "You've got an ISP that works" instead of "You've Got Mail, Have Been Hosed and by the way, you've just lost your connection Courtesy of The Internet Gorilla" 8. Don't own movie but I did like it

Seriously though. If the tip Rascal gave me doesn't work or AOL doesn't come with a fixed version of their software I will be forced to find another ISP. I rarely use my backup free ISPs but for AOL not to allow me to use them and for AOL to lose my connection 10 times a day is unacceptable. I hate to keep bashing AOL but if they don't do something to satisfy their disgruntled subs the price of the stock will eventually reflect this attitude. I hope not.

Ya know, I have been a die hard AOL fan for years. Large shareholder and user of their service as well. I agree about the content, I like it very much. But I am learning a very valuable lesson. Content does not mean anything if it does not work properly. You mention leave and you will suffer. Man, I tell ya...I havent suffered this much in a long time. I dont know what happened to aol, I never had a problem for years. Now, for the last 2 months or so, it has been unbearable. AOL has no answers for me. Their content means nothing at this point. The frustration I am enduring is unbelievable. Constantly freezing up. Constantly booting me off. E-Trade is almost unusable. They swear it is AOL. I have trouble connecting and when I do get connecetd, it either freezes up on me or boots me off. Many times it will then not even come back on unless I reboot the entire machine.

I am just totally disgusted. Will I switch service ? Your damn right I will if this problem does not go away in a hurry. The service is worth nothing if it does not work. The problem persists on both my laptop and my desktop.

argghhhhhh

K B--- you are MOSTLY right. If I were cow or JDN I would have changed in a heartbeat. They would have to give up busy signals and slow connections too,,, that would be tough! I do not use AOL,, love the stock but find the content,, just 'stuff' I can find on the net. It is possible to 'chat' through ICQ and why not free long distance over the net through DialPad.com instead? You can still use the computer while talking on the same phone line. I use Netscape and have the sexiest sourthen voice notify me by name that I have mail,,, a little WAV file is all it takes. Saw the movie once,, that was enough so all that leaves is changing the address,,, that is a pain granted,, but I would not hesitate--- it helps my kids are grown,,, LOL! Love the stock (still) but the service is not for me,,, So it depends on the user and I suspect more have signed up than were "pissed" enough to leave
BTW--- I have only lost the connection TWICE in over 5 years...
